NVIDIA pledges computing access for UK AI safety research
A five-year pledge worth $250 million aims to help researchers test AI agents and their limits.

What happened
NVIDIA made a five-year pledge on October 13. It plans to give UK teams time on powerful computers. It values the gift at $250 million in all, or $50 million each year. Teams will use it to study AI agents and safety.
Some support will go to BOLD, SOFAIR, and Imperial College London. UK cloud partners will provide the computers. The firms that will do this, the setup, and the terms still need to be agreed.

AI tests need computer power too. Teams need to find where agents go wrong. They must check that safety rules hold up. A pledge can help pay for this work. It does not tell us what the tests will find.
For a small builder, start here: give an agent only the access it needs. Try things that might fail. Keep a way to stop a task and undo a change. These are tips to try, not results from this new work.
