Copilot’s October roundup connects local models, separate accounts, and parallel sessions

The latest published roundup emphasizes managing agent work across environments rather than one headline benchmark.

Tools: GitHub Copilot · VS Code · Ollama

What happened

GitHub’s October 9 roundup describes separate accounts for a Copilot app license and repository access, local Ollama model discovery through the CLI’s model picker, and side-by-side agent sessions in VS Code 1.141. VS Code also adds worktree cleanup controls that show inactive session disk usage. The roundup includes Haiku 5.5 availability and local sandboxing, which were separately announced earlier in the week.

Roseram analysis

Parallel sessions create more work to supervise, not just more output. Comparing results, cleaning up isolated checkouts, and understanding which account authorizes repository access are concrete operational improvements. Local model discovery also does not establish equivalent quality or zero operating cost: hardware, supported models, and representative tasks still shape the result.
