What happened
OpenAI’s pricing page lists ChatGPT Pro options at $100, $200, and $500 per month. Its weekly update says Astra Ultrafast is available in Codex and ChatGPT Work on Pro $500 and eligible Enterprise and Edu plans. ChatGPT and Codex share plan usage, while API token pricing is a separate billing system.
Why it matters
The meaningful purchase decision is whether faster token generation and the higher plan allowance improve a real workflow enough to justify the cost. It would be misleading to describe this as a blanket increase for all Codex users; the existing Plus plan and other Pro choices remain listed.
