CUSTOMER ACCOUNT / ATTRIBUTED EVIDENCE
What this case establishes
This is a commercial publisher’s customer account. Roseram checked the source and wrote the analysis; it did not interview the customer, run the product, audit the figures or establish that AI caused the reported business result. The pilot below is a proposal, not a completed experiment.

Mintlify: the documented workflow
Anthropic describes Mintlify using Claude for documentation queries and agents that update documentation around code changes. The account reports query-resolution and internal delivery improvements. These are dated publisher/customer outcomes, not proof that an answer is correct merely because it cites a documentation page.
The mechanism worth examining
Documentation has at least two jobs: explain the current contract and help someone complete a task. A generated answer can do the first poorly while sounding fluent, or do it correctly but omit the command needed for the second. Tie pages and examples to a release version. Then evaluate whether a reader can use the instructions without guessing the missing environment, permissions or dependency.
The implementation decision
Select a small API or SDK change with a known old and new behavior. Give the assistant source and changelog context, and specify which version the public article should describe. Require explicit deprecation notes where appropriate. Documentation updates should be reviewed alongside the code because a missing limitation can cause customer failures even when the implementation itself is correct.
Where the workflow can fail
An assistant may merge instructions from two releases or answer from an outdated page that ranks well internally. Code examples may be attractive but untested. Ask for a source pointer for each consequential behavior claim. Include a question that the documentation does not answer to see whether the system admits the gap or invents a configuration step.
A practical evaluation, designed for this use case
Have a developer unfamiliar with the component follow the updated example in a clean test project. Record missing steps, incorrect answers and time to the intended outcome. Check a version-sensitive question and one unanswerable question separately. Measure documentation usefulness through completed reader tasks and source support rather than the number of pages regenerated.

The decision matrix
Original evaluation criteria for this workflow. These are questions to test, not results measured by Roseram.
| Decision | Evidence to collect | Stop or revise when |
|---|---|---|
| Version clarity | Example tied to a release | Old and new instructions are blended |
| Answer support | Exact claim supported by source | A citation points to an unrelated paragraph |
| Task usefulness | Fresh user completes the workflow | Polished copy omits required setup |

Questions this case answers
Is a cited documentation answer automatically trustworthy?
No. Verify that the linked material supports the exact claim and applies to the relevant version.
What is a better metric than pages generated?
Readers completing the intended task correctly, with fewer missing steps and unsupported answers.
