Ari’s umbrella had one yellow handle and a tiny blue patch. At Mum’s home, it hung beside the red scarf. At Dad’s, it stood by the shoe basket.

Ari liked seeing it in both places.

This Friday, rain drummed on Mum’s window. The umbrella was at Dad’s.
